It has been named Pak Sat 1RK

This satellite is the first milestone achieved of the Pakistan Space Program 2040. And thank Allah Almighty that we achieved it with a success and pride. It was launched  from  Xechang Satellite Center China by the satellite launch vehicle.Pak Sat 1RK has been equipped with 30 transponders out of which 12 are C-Band and 18 are KU-Band. It would broadcast TV in Southern Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Eastern Africa, and far east countries. It would be serving the job of data transfer and internet in Pakistan. Manufacturing of this satellite started in October 2008 by Great Wall Industry Corporation China.

When the satellite launching vehicle raised itself in the air, the whole environment got itself blessed with the slogan of "Allah o Akbar". President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani congratulated the scientists from China and Pakistan on the achievement of this milestone. They added that it is start of a new era for Pakistan.

The whole nation is busy in praying for the better future of Pakistan. This is a great achievement for Pakistan. Atleast we can now get a hold of data transfer and satellite telecommunication in our country The life span of this satellite is 15 years. It would be launched at a longitude of 38 degrees in geostationary orbit on the equatorial plane at an altitude of 36,000km above the Earth’s surface.
